Mohakin safaris specializes in trekking and climbing Africa’s two highest peaks: Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Kenya.
At 5,895m, Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is the highest peak in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. It is a dormant volcanic mountain and popular hiking destination. We offer a 7 day Mchame- Mweka route or a 6 day Maranga route. For more details about hiking routes see Mt Kilimanjaro
At 4,985m, Mt Kenya is the second highest mountain in Africa. Less well known and therefore somewhat less commercialised, this is also a spectacular and challenging hike. Route options for hiking to Pt Lenana include the Kamweti – Timau route (7 days); Naro Moru route (4 days), or the Sirimon – Chogoria route. (5 days). See Mt Kenya for route details.
Like any other mountain, East Africa’s high mountains can be dangerous and hazardous. Trekking over 4,000m always presents the possibility of mountain sickness. We suggest that you come well equipped by referring to our recommended equipment list, and hiking information.
